Red River Turbines (RRT), a leader in turbine engine overhaul, has been awarded an FAR Part 145 Repair Station Certificate.
In making the announcement, Steve Woolstenhulme, President of Red River Turbines, said the repair station certification would greatly enhance the process of completing an engine overhaul and returning repaired aircraft engines to service.
Red River Turbines, which specializes in the repair and overhaul of GE CJ610 and CF700 engines, recently announced the completion of the world’s first commercial engine test cell built to both industry and military depot level specifications. Standing nearly four stories tall, the 66,000-cubic-foot test-cell tower is designed to test engines with a maximum of 10,000 pounds thrust with provisions that allow expanding the facility to accept engines up to 40,000 pounds thrust.
“With the awarding of the FAR Part 145 Repair Station Certificate, we now have in place the essential component to completing a turn-key engine overhaul including testing,” said Lynn Beavers, Vice President and General Manager of RRT. “This includes the all important FAA documentation form 8130-3, which certifies that the engine meets FAA repair and overhaul requirements and accompanies the engine through the return-to-service process.”
At its 25,000-square-foot facility in Sherman, Texas, the company provides engine overhaul, engine failure analysis, troubleshooting, overhaul, component (such as combustion liners, front frames, fuel nozzles, bleed valves, etc) repair and overhauls as well as service bulletin compliance.
